His name is Basofi Soedirman, but I often call him Pakde Tutuk. ‘Not all men – tidak semua laki-laki’, is a
popular song that he sang a long time ago. Perhaps most of millennials
nowadays don’t know the song. But it was such a hit in its era. The album was also succeed to sold 1 million copies if I'm not mistaken.
Probably
not all men are like him. Well, I don’t wanna talk about his
career-life (covering military, government, art, politic, and some others),
plentiful of journalistic medias have covered it.
I think one post will not sufficient to tell about his good character and kindness.
What
I very admire is how he kept his feet on the ground despite of his
achievement. And he could instill this character to other family members
as well. His family is full of warmth. One of the warmest families I've
ever known.
He's a very loving brother. My mom said that my
uncle phoned her almost everyday just to check on her well-being. It's a
simple gesture but very meaningful.
However, as a human, it's very possible that he made a mistake in the past. Please forgive him for any wrongdoings 🙏.
You'll
be really missed Pakde. Your kindness, smile, warmth, banters, and good
characters won't be forgotten. Semoga husnul khotimah. Aamiin.
