One of The Best Movies I've Ever Watched, To Date.

This movie is more than just good, and even makes me revive this blog from the long hiatus..

I know this movie from twitter. As blitzmegaplex's follower, I'm very much aware that this movie gets so much praise from its viewers, and blitz's account has been retweeting those comments forever.

Yeah, I should admit that I'm quite a TKG person (aka Takut Kalah Gaul, hahaha). And after reading those rave comments, it made me eager to watch that movie.

Some of those comments are:
"Never thought Indian movie is this great!" - Mutia
3idiots simply brought smiles & happy tears altogether :) aal is well!
Idiot is cleverer than it looks
Great story, great casts, total entertainment!
the cynical and introvert me is pretty much fulfilled.
And those comments really describe my favorite type of movie.. *Umm, not exactly.. haha..
But, getting the ticket was not that easy. At first, I wanted to watch it on Thu, but there's no empty seat anymore. Sigh. I was quite unsure whether i should watch on fri or not, since the movie was only being played on PP, which infamous with its high price. But, i just couldnt resist the desire..
The price of hindi movie even more expensive than the regular ones. U should pay 50k on weekedays and 75k on weekend.

Finally, me and my friend agreed to watch on Fri with 75k ticket. We bought it on 14.30 am for 18.40 playing, and we only could get the second row seat. Huee.. I hoped the movie would be really worth it since i had to pay the pricey ticket and quite uncomforable seat's position.
I had a high expectation for that movie. Fortunately, it didnt disappoint. It even exceeded my expectation!! I laughed a lot and cried many many times. I dont know, the movie was just perfect for me at some points. It touched right to the some crucial aspects that i faced at the moment. I think that's why the movie is so into me, and i'm so into it.

I even provoked my mom and brother to watch the movie. My bro even took a special trip from bogor to jkt only to watch the movie. Moreover, both of them managed to get only two seats left, which were on the right-most and front-most. It was guaranteed they would have pain in their neck after watching the 3 hours long movie.
Fortunately, the sacrifice was paid off. They really love the movie. And I'm happy knowing that. :)
For you who havent watch the movie, just watch it. Any over-the-top review doesn't lie.
Aall iz well! :)

Festival Keju Kraft Moo (Kraft Moo's Cheese Festival)

If in the week before there's a Festival Jajanan Tradisional Bango, last week Kraft also made a quite similar event by making a Festival Keju Kraft Moo. Keju Kraft Moo is one of Kraft's cheese product which targeted children as its segment. So, it's not surprising if we see a funny cow as its mascot.

Honestly, I didn't really eager to come to this occasion. At first, I knew this occasion from csui04 mailing list, Mala posted a pps file containing the list of merchants who joined that event. But then, I had a chitchat with jibay (not jijay bajay of course :p ) and she invited (or asked?) me to came to the event. The company which she had an internship in was, umm, I don't really know what its relation with Kraft. But she had been given free discount vouchers from the company, and told me that I could have some of that.. Hhuhehehe.. But still, I wasn't that interest to come.

But what a coincidence! That day's afternoon, my mom ought to come to a wedding reception at a masjid in front of Athlete Century Park Hotel (I forget what the masjid's name). And it's soo close with the location of FKKM. And yes, my mom was willing to go there. FKKM, here I come..

I phoned Mala, asking if she came there too. She had come earlier at 10 in the morning. Yes, yes, I could ask for some suggestions which ones she recommended to buy. Hoho. Because before came to FKKM, I had some foods at the wedding party, it quite impossible for me to eat again at the event. So, we just took away some foods to eat them at home. Ohya, I met Nilam03 and some of 2003's girls there.

These are what we bought there:

a. Kebab Turki Baba Rafi
Actually, this food was not that unique. We could see its outlets everywhere. But I hadn't taste it even a bit. So, I had initiative to buy it, hehe. There's only one menu: original Kebab priced 10K. And I loved it. I mean, the wrapper was crunchy but soft at the same time. the filling was great too, the mixture of cheese, sauce, meat, etc were in perfect composition and combination. Recommended!!

b. Sandwich Bakar (I forget the exact name)

We ordered a tuna sandwich. It tastes okay. Yeah, like every other tuna sandwich. Price: 15K

c. Singkong Keju Meletus

Originated in Jogja, and inspired by the explosion of Merapi mount. The singkong keju meletus is a kind of kripik singkong (cassava crispy chip), uses cheese as its ingredients. The taste and the crisp was in the right adjusment in my opinion. Price: 15K/sack.

d. Martabak Bolu Golden Bells

This food is recommended by Mala, so I could blame her if the taste was not good. I ordered a chococheese martabak. The price was 27.5K. The shape of martabak was quite similar with martabak bangka: well-rounded and then flipped into half-round. Lookin at the shape, I doubted the taste. The first try quite disappointed me. But then, it's not bad at all. The taste was great! It's not too sweet, which I preferred so much. Recommended!!

e. Sepang

Foods wouldn't be complete without beverage. On the promotion whiteboard, it written 'minuman berenergi, asli dari kalimantan'. The red colored cold drink succeed to attract me, even more at the hot day like that. So, I bought one with price 5K. When I tasted it, errr, it's reaaaally similar with the taste of Bir Pletok! No, it's the same drinks! No differences at all…. Huhu.. I became more disappointed because I didn't really like bir pletok.. Huhuhu. [I have written a post about bir pletok in this blog.]

Overall, the tastes of those foods were great!! Hohoho.. makin gembul deh gw.

RestoReview: Ita Suki & Han Gang

Yay.. now is the resto review, as I promised to write it several days ago.

Ita Suki

This Ita Suki restaurant is located on jl. Panglima Polim Raya, not far from Batik Danar Hadi and Blok M Plaza. My cousin asked me to come there, because my families from Lampung were in Jakarta, so we just wanted to treat them appropriately, haiyah.

From its name, I’m pretty sure your guess was right: yes, it’s a Japanese restaurant. The restaurant is a typical of Hanamasa if we want to see from the cooking2 thingy. I mean, there’s a stove on every desk, so we could fry or boil our raw food there. But, the restaurant didn’t endow with an all-you-can-eat method. So, you ought to choose the menu first, and then you cook it on the stove. The menu was various, so you have more freedom to choose what kind of food you want to consume.

Because I was late, so I didn’t really know what kind of menu that had been ordered by my cousin. When I arrived, there’s a plate of vegetables, another plate of mixed meatballs , and some plates of side dishes like fried cassava (iyee. Singkong goreng. My cousin always buys singkong goreng no matter the resto). the fried cassava was yummy, hehehehe. Okay, and then there’re two kinds of gravy for shabu2: tomyum and original chicken flavor. And I loved both.

The taste was nice and proper. I mean, there’s nothing too special, but not mediocre too.. The atmosphere of the place was cozy, but somehow it’s really t.y.p.i.c.a.l. and then, the price was unknown for me.. hey, I didn’t even look at the menu.. But, I thought it’s about 50K/person or less. PERHAPS.

Because I don’t really know the most menus there, so I still cannot give a fair judgment to the resto. AFAIK, it’s a nice resto and quite worth to try. :)

Han Gang

This restaurant is located on Wolter Monginsidi Street, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta. There’re another branches at Pacific Place and Grand Indonesia.

This restaurant is a Korean Restaurant, and just served Korean food of course. The menu was varied from Bulgogi, Bibimbap, even I could find GalbiTang there. Galbitang is like a soup of beef rib. When I went to Korea, the tour guide said that I wouldn’t find Galbitang in Indonesia. Hey, I found it on Han Gang *grin*. There’s Samgyetang too (famous ginseng chicken soup).

I don’t really know what kind of menus that we ordered. There’re several main course: bibimbap, a bibimbap w/tuna, then bulgogi, ribs menu (forgot its name), ox tongue, and then capcay. Yeah, actually it’s not capcay at all… but it’s what’s written on the menu. When we saw the actual one, umm, it’s not different than a soun goreng. Hahahahaha.. As usual, Korean restaurant serves appetizer dishes. Han Gang gave premium snack such as fish cake, snails & mussels, kimchi, and several else. We got watermelon as a free dessert.

The taste of those foods was great. I mean, it’s similar with the one that I had tasted in South Korea. But I didn’t really surprised, because the restaurant’s visitor when I came there were ALL KOREAN (except four of us and another two Indonesian visitpr). Not only the taste which was similar, but also the price!! Aaargh, for student like me, the price was really expensive. I preferred to go to Segarra if I could. Huehehe. Fortunately, there’s my mom’s bestfriend who treated us. Thanx sooo much.

Price about 75K-100s K per portion. The price of beverage wasn’t really expensive on the other side.

Conclusion: if u wanna taste the real Korean food, this is a purrrfect place. Hehe.. but yes, it’s an expensive one.

Food Review: Eng's dan Desa Bumbu

I saw alida's post, that she'd been not really often doing a culinary tour (wisata kuliner maksudnya :p).. Actually, I don't really want (or I really don't want) to write in English. Because it's so time consuming. But I know that I should get myself used to it if I want to work in MNC (not Multimedia Nusantara Citra) or continue my study in a foreign country. Huff, no pain no gain (except the one related with weight. If u get a pain (no eat), u will get less gain (the weight), hohohoho)

Eng's

I went to this resto after had a hair cut at the barbershop. The bude seniman recommended it, so we thought we might be should give it a try. The resto located in KH Ahmad Dahlan street, Kebayoran Baru (or the one near with it :p), and not so far away from Soto Kudus, Tomodachi, Dapur Coklat, et al.

The resto provides sundanese foods, like nasi timbel and nasi bakar. Actually, the food was just okay. Even we felt that the roast chicken was too mellifluous. The place was cozy, colorful, and palsy-walsy :). It's a nice place to have a light chit-chat or informal meeting. Moreover, it's not so crowded there. How about the price? Hmm, it's on a reasonable range within 15k to 30k per portion of food, and the beverages weren't pricey too.

When i wanted to go home, I saw the wall-of-fame. Umm, it's a whiteboard where famous people visiting the place could give their signature there. No, no, I didn't put a signature there, hohoho. crazy aja! :p. I just became curious that the place was being owned by actor Eeng S. Hmm, could be, could be.

Conclusion:
Nice place to have a break with a reasonably price, but not a good choice if you want to satisfy yourself with the foods.

Desa Bumbu

I went to this place last Sunday, with Bude Pendiam, her husband, and his "circus troupe". hoho.. The place located on Desa Cinagara, Likearth (Sukabumi), East West Java. Yeah, it's not really in Sukabumi, just the half way to it.

*aaargh, I want to use Bahasa.......*

There're 19 people w/4 cars went there. We departed from Kuningan at 830 and arrived before 1030.. The resto has a slogan 'nature resort', or something like that. pokoknya there's a 'resort' word in it lah.

Okay, starting from here, I will mix between bahasa and english to make it more fast and effecient-effective. because there're other things to do rather than just filling this blog. hueheheehe.. (coursing --> ngeles :p)

We were that day's first guests. There're still no other guests there. May be because we came too early (10.30!), and of course it's not a breakfast time and lunch time still quite long. When we arrived, we saw two buffalos being drove by their tamer. ahahaha, kewl.. (dasar anak kota, liat kebo aja seneng :p)

There're 2 saung (what's 'saung' in english? gazebo?) reserved by us, located in a pondside (di sisi empang :p). It is a fishing pond, because actually, the main goal we went there was to fishing.. hoho. we, the men, fished goldfishes. the ladies berleyeh-leyeh and mengurusi si cucu, huehehe..

in about an hour, we tried fishing. but, whether there're too little amount of fishes in the pond, or we were too amateur, the amount of fishes being caught was reaaaally small. it's soo boring and we became unexcited. then, we asked the waiter to put more fishes to the pond. and then the waiter added about 50kgs additional fishes.. hohohohoho.. after that, our life became happier and easier. :D

udah ah, bahasa Indonesia aja mulai sekarang..

Katanya ada jg buat handicraft dan belajar angklung, but i didn't see that.

Food Review: Ichiban Sushi

thanx banyak ya L ^^.. (haha, kalo pake inisial kayak di serial GG :p)

pancious, risol, kroket, 27

Humm, before I start to work on my TA, again, wanna write some reviews based on yesterday experience. hehe. In this post, there'll be only reviews, I will put my personal story on the different post. Okay, here they are..

Pancious Pancake House..

Finally, the plan for having breakfast at Pancious really came true.. Pancious Pancake House previously only open at Permata Hijau, but starting from 1 March 2008, it also open on Pacific Place 5th floor.

My cousin had asked me to try Pancious for weeks. But we hadn't a time that we could go together.. But finally, this week my cousin cancelled her plan to go to Bandung, and I also didn't have any important plan at Saturday. Soo, me and my bro went to wichan, then went to Pancious at Pacific Place (open from 10 am)

The resto provided, of course, pancakes menu. The pancakes (and waffles) not only just sweet pancakes which we often see (like in A&W with its ice cream waffles), but in Pancious you can taste savory/salty pancakes, like pancakes with sausage, or even with cheese.

We ordered several foods: full breakfast (because we're so hungry that morning), then tiramisu pancakes, and smoked beef fettuccine (if I'm not wrong :p). Honestly, I still have a lil bit regret because I didn't order savory fettucine at all :(.

The taste of tiramisu pancake was good.. I love the pancakes, because it has smooth texture, and it's so tender. Yeah, I like a not crispy type of pancake. Soo, if u like a crispy one, may be u won't really into it.

The 'full breakfast' menu contain of scrambled eggs (which tasted like another scrambled eggs :p), sausage (which is not tender >.< ), a slice of smoked beef, and a couple of original pancakes (with maple syrup).. the portion was quite big, so u won't need any additional food if u just want to fill ur belly :p. The fettucine is okay. The taste was adequate, not too salty which I'd found on many smoked beef fettucines on other restos. I recommend the pancakes. Too bad I didn't try the savory one. If u go there and not really hungry, don't order the full breakfast, hehe.. Some drinks like ice tea could be refilled, and the price of the drink is quite reasonable (almost similar w/ Bloc Fisip). The glass size also huge, soo I think that'll be okay if u buy a not the cheapest one ^^.

There's a promo, if u go there 3 times in 2 months, you can get a VIP card (10% discount for each transaction). Oya, i just wanna tell that the breakfast menu is available everyday at Pacific Place, but in Permata Hijau is on holiday only.

The place is cozy, with lounge music that made me feel good.

Kroket dan Risoles Karawaci

We bought it at Mal Ambassador, top floor. There're many flavors of kroket and risoles that you can choose, such as chicken flavor, cheese, chicken and cheese, fish, smoked beef and cheese, and so on.. My favorite of course smoked beef and cheese. haha..

The taste was deliciouse, but not as appetizing as the one that I'd taste in Pastello.. But overall, u won't get disappointed by trying it.. :)

27 Dresses

Starring: Katherine Heigl, James Marsden.

I watched this movie, because we just didn't wanna watch horror movie (hantu ambulans, 40 hari bangkitnya pocong), or ayat-ayat cinta (which is currently filled most studios in movie theater in Indonesia).

And because my cousin wanted to watch this, I just followed her (namanya jg dibayarin :p). The story was about a quite old girl (woman) who had 27 times became a bridesmaid. And she kept the dresses that she wore in a closet. Her biggest dream was being married, but she found it really difficult to make it come true.

Umm, I think the story was okay. The genre was romantic comedy, soo from the genre I think you can predict the flow, hehe.. I think it's a lil bit similar with Wedding Planner, which has the story of a girl that has occupation of wedding planner, but the wedding never came to herself.

For you who just wanna watch movie for having fun, I think this film it's quite good. But if u want a stellar story and performance, better u watch another movie..

Oya, I just tried to watch 'no country for old men'... But I haven't been in a perfect mood to watch that kind of movie: serious, gloomy, need thinking, a lil bit brutal, and bloody.. hehe.. I don't even try to watch the 'there will be blood' movie.. After read the synopsis, I thought the story was interesting. Soo,, umm.. may be later.. hehe.. Juno movie (about problems facing by a girl after havin accident with his soon-to-be-boyfriend).. umm, it's simple but the advantage is it's simplicity.

melar

Yes, that's my body condition nowadays. When I put my jeans or trousers, it feels so tight even sometimes I felt like I had a stomachache. haha.. silly, innit? Aargh.. I even sometimes didn't go lunch for efficiency. but but but, how come that my body gotten this large?

hoo, now I know.. sometimes, I just had some combos of eatavaganza, like the one I wrote that one day I came from one resto to another (fish n co, mangkok putih, and J.Co).

Last Sunday, I had nearly-similar-experience. On that Feb 17th, my senior, Narpati, was getting married with Mba Lis. The ceremony was held on Wisma Yaso, in the area of Satria Mandala Museum, Gatot Subroto. My mom accompanied me, and she's a friend of Narpati's mom too. Soo, it's great that I didn't need to come there by myself.

Met many seniors there. I just met smile from 2004 batch. Really bad that I must left the place really early. Because on the same day, the aunt model celebrated her bday on a resto. Soo, after I took some photos and ate siomay, only, I got my feet from there and drove to arteri pondok indah.

The Resto is Crapoe. It's a AYCE (all you can eat) one. The price is 66K per person. The serving of food is a la carte. You can choose from 109 option of menu. The menu was vary from dim sum to mayo shrimp to crab. But, mostly were chinese foods.

Overall, the foods were delicious but easily forgotten, hehe.. But for 66K I thing it's great, hehe.. Hoiya, my cousin annaoj came there too, wit his new-born baby named leiruz. hoo, after delivered the baby, she's still pretty though.

soo full that day.. after arrived at my home, found pastellos.. my another aunt delivered it when we're not on the home... aah, food day.. hahaha..

Amazing Race Asia Season 2 - Final Episode

Beware!! Contain Spoiler!!

And, the season 2 of The Amazing Race Asia has met its end. And the winner is.............. Haha.. No, no.. not so fast.. hehe.. And there were three team left: Pinoy's Marc&Rovilson, Adrian&Collin from Singapore, and Pamela&Vanessa from Malaysia.. From Indonesia? you must have known that they were eliminated looong time ago.. *sigh*

Yes, I had predicted that two of those three groups would make it into the top three: Marc and Rovilson, Adrian and Collin. Yeps, because those two groups were the most stable groups there, they're constantly finished at first and second spot. And for PamVan, I root for them since third episode, hehe.. I don't know, I just like seeing Van there.. hehehe...

The final episode began in South Africa, then the journey continued to Singapore. The final task was the contestants must arrange the flags provided. They must sorted it in order the countries they had visited in the race, from the first to the last country. The first team came to do the task is Marc and Rovilson, then PamVan, and AdrianCollin. Okay, because the task was a roadblock, just one member from each team who can do the task. Rovilson seemed facing great difficulty to choose the right flag. Pam also did, but she's better. But, Collin just did it effortlessly.. zap zap zap, and done..

Sooo, it's clear who's the winner... Adrian and Collin (prok prok prok), PamVan came second, and the most favorite just came third.. hehe... Salute to Adrian and Collin, especially Collin who couldn't hear properly (he's nearly deaf FYI). Poor Marc and Rovilson, they had won almost all race, but met a very challenging final task. hehe.. Congrats for y'all.. Can't wait to see the third season. Hope Indonesia will win..

Apple Ads' Jingle

I just found it that Apple marketing division was just almost always brilliantly choose a song to make it as the jingle to a particular product. Although I didn't really follow every ads they've made, but some of them were extraordinary catchy and infectious (at least for me).. Some of them are:
1. New iPod Nano: Feist - 1.2.3.4
2. iPod Touch: Cansai de Der S - Music is My Hot Hot S
3. Mac Air: Yael Naim - New Soul

and I've been enjoying the music so much... The third one is on my playlist right now.. Even there's a joke said that for music artists seeking overnight fame, send audition tape to Steve Jobs. Haha, may be it's quite true.. Even Feist performed at the 50th Annual Grammy Award held last Monday. If her song wasn't an ads' jingle, I think she wouldn't performed at the Grammy.. :)

080208

This friday, almost nothing went as I had planned. First, I came to campus just to watch Asciipella doing a practice. But, since really few of 'em had came, so the practice was suspended.. huhu.. Hence, in that morning, I just watched Mike putted an extraordinary effort to make a particular person to sing.. heheh.. poor Mike, he seemed so desperate.. :p..

then after Sholat Jumat, I had planned to just goin home after givin an installer to AWL. But, I took a lunch with Lolita, Mimi, and Mike at Bloc (book, lounge, and cafe), FISIP UI.. We went there because Lolita was eager to eat at that place.. If the foods were untasty, all curses would be on her.. hehe..

yeah, all of them ordered fried rice with different combination (bloc, meatballs, and smoked beef), and I ordered spaghetti marinara (spaghetti with cream sauce and chicken).. umm, I thought the fried rices were okay, but the marinara was gooood. hehe..

Their portions were adequate, not too many and not too little.. The ice lemon tea was just great, in size.. because it was in a HUGE glass... I had used to emptied my glass before finishing my food, but there, I even couldn't emptied my glass by myself. Thanx to Michael who helped me.. hehe. Oia, the place was really really cozy... It was a really interesting place..

After havin lunch, we went to fasilkom.. I thought my friend, AWL, how to use the meebo and YM.. I still couldn't believe how come the lecture asst on FE hadn't ever use the meebo and YM.. hehe..

I went home at 4.30..

walkin-walkin

[24 dec 2007, written on dec 25]

After spent the night at hospital, we went home. And then I have another schedule: walkin-walkin (WW) 2b.. hoho.. actually, at first just I, awl, mika, and tuko who’ll join the WW. But, I thought why I just don’t invite other friends to join us? May some of them had no schedule on that day. Soo, I began to message some of them. Until now, I still am wondering why I messaged ‘em? Often, it used to make me tired, and kind of annoyed with waiting the reply. But I’ve learned that I must do it sincerely, if some of ‘em reply my message, it’s good. If no, yeah, may be they’re in hectic state so they couldn’t deliver any reply.

Some of ‘em couldn’t join cause they had another occasion, like JZ, who predictably must accompany her parents shopping. Dela n Arri, who just exhausted after had vacation on outer city (luar kota maksudnya). Ndy n Lid, who picked up their family on soekarno-hatta airport. Nda who got her frequent stomachache, kush went to garut accompanied her dad, vij went to two mangos, etc etc.

This WW was held on Senci aka Senayan City (first, Arri asked me where’s Senci.. wakakak.. dia taunya Singapore sih sekarang..), at wendy’s. the choice of wendy’s as gathering location, because we didn’t know whether senci had any foodcourt or not.. hehe. But one for sure ,we knew that there’s wendy’s on senci.

The attendance were me, mika, awl, tk, fiz, mon, bol, dil, dian, ima, vig, and tisa.. 12 people, man!!.. one of the most successful 2b reunion.. heheh.. usually, it’s below 10 people.. and sometimes it’s end up with me, mika, n awl.. hehehe.. soo busy my friends are.. walau direncanain dari jauh hari jg ga ngepek..

I did sholat at ground floor on musholla named executive musholla (beeeuh, gaya banget dah namanya..). the place was clean and classy.. one of the best musholla in mall I think, though the musholla on 6th floor was not as good as the one on G floor..

We had a chit-chat on wendy’s, then we took pictures on some of LEGO decoration. Yes, there was Lego expo there. It said that the expo was the biggest on south east asia. Then, we took pictures in front of a huge bear doll near the main gate, hehe.. we just threw away our shyness, since no one knew us.. hahaha.. wait, no one knew us? Of course NOT, because we met some pals there. I met adi-kun (known as adi tepar), andhika fajri, then chacha. Chacha even said that beby was also there. Dian and bola met their college-mate. Mika met her middle-school mate, and many more. Hahaha, tumplek semua di Senci.

We watched Bee Movies. Thanx so much to viga, she bought all of us popcorn and aqua ^^. The movie is about a bee named Barry. he was shocked to discover that the humans had been stealing and eating the bees' honey for centuries, and sued the human race for stealing their precious honey. Barry won the lawsuit, and all honey in the world was returned to the bees. Is it the perfect decision? Just watch the movie..

Overall, I thought the movie was really entertaining and children-friendly. Although rotten tomatoes criticized it as “has humorous moments, but mostly forgettable”. Yeah, quite true. But at least I was very entertained, had some good laughs, and left the cinema room with pleasant feeling. The graphic was colorful, bright, and lovely. The storyline was not extraordinary, but well, good enough. Hmm, this was may be because I just wanted to watch something that doesn’t really need brain to gulp it.

Score: 3,5 from 5

Then we searched some place for sit, first destination was J.Co. unfortunately it was full. The krispy kreme was quite empty, but the doughnuts there were over-sweet, so we didn’t go there. Soo, we just entered the food hall at sogo. There’s few resto, just chopstick, bakmi naga, ganesha (Indian resto), and another one that I forgot its name. because most of us were hadn’t hungry yet, so we ordered some light food or snack. We ordered chicken skin, dumpling, and chicken wing from chopstick resto. The tastes were good.

After that, we visited woman emancipation expo (I forgot the name). in the expo ,there was photo exhibition, then film showing. The movie has entitled ‘kloset’, directed by a famous Indonesia director: Garin Nugroho. The movie told about the situation in Indonesian villages, where the people very poor, then women there had dilemmatic situation between choosing stick to live in poverty in village, or take a ENORMOUS risks by become a TKW to foreign country.

May be u asked, why the title of the film is kloset? It’s because the main character, Ayu, has a child who just want to loosen the bowels on WC duduk. Ayu didn’t have money to bought him what he wanted.

So happy that the WW has succeed. Now, there are other things to organized. Ouch..

Talent

Finally, I’ve done read it, lascar pelangi novel, and just newly finished the second eps: sang pemimpi, authored by andrea hirata.

Great novel. But, I agree with u Momo, I’ve been thinking that some parts in the novel were just too good to be true. hehe.. Andrea used many brilliant metaphor in his novel, some of them are unexpected, and left me smiling and saying silently: “it’s so damn true!!”

I just love the novel that put honesty, or at least made the reader said, “gosh, It’s soooo me!!” (ini gue banget!!), but sometimes we just doin’ it soo casually, we just used to do it, so sometimes we don’t know that may be other people has different opinion about our habit. Or if one of the novel’s character did some bad things that we also ever did, we just smiled bitterly and said, “what a mess I was!!”.

Beside some over-detailed description (in my stupid opinion), I really love the book. If u want some review, just search it on google and you’ll get many, since the novel has been published since 2005.

Surprisingly, the author frequently pointed out to some aspects that I often think. Like about talent. I often think that the LUCKIEST persons in this world are the ones who RECOGNIZE his /her talent, LOVE to do his/her talent, and have OPPORTUNITIES to develop it. May be there’s a person who has more talent than Roger Federer in tennis, but his job is as cendol seller, so he never tried how to play tennis. Or may be one of asmat race in ruler area in Papua will be more successful than Schumi if he ever try how to drive a car. Soo, be grateful if you know the talent and has opportunity to develop it. Don't ever waste the blessings..

The main character, Ikal, has some ups and downs. And I just love how he could lift his downs into ups. He showed us things that we can learn explicitly, but not in ‘gaya menggurui’.

Keep your dream as high as sky, and don’t be pessimistic. Even some people might say that pessimistic has some linear relation with realistic, but he called pessimistic is one form of ‘mendahului nasib’. And it’s awfully wrong. So, I must do THE BEST thing that I can do in every single current state that happen to me..

A must read one, really...

Book Review: 168 Jam Dalam Sandera

Karangan Meutya Hafid, salah seorang pembawa berita (anchor) saluran Metro TV.

It's just uniquely amazing.. How beautiful the ukhuwah is..

Beverage Review: Bir Pletok and Kombucha

At idul adha day, we came to my pade’s house at panglima polim, south Jakarta. the aunt offered us to eat and drink. Because we just had ate at aunt designer’s house before, so we couldn’t afford to eat anymore, but to drink was okay. So, the ageless aunt gave me some beverages that I hadn’t tried before. First was Bir Pletok. Well, some of u who are betawinese must have know it. Okay, although the name contain the word ‘beer’, but it doesn’t contain alcohol or anything that can make u drunk.

Bir pletok is betawinese beverage, made from ginger extract, sugar, and other various roots extract. If we drink bir pletok, first u will get hot on ur mouth, and then your body will feel warm. More or less, it’s quite similar with jamu.

The second beverage is Kombucha. Kombucha is the Western name for sweetened tea that has been fermented by a macroscopic microorganisms called a "kombucha colony,". The taste is sour. Yeah, just like others fermented drink such as yoghurt: they are all sour. So, I just don’t really like it.

Some said that kombucha is good for health. So, if u wanna try. Just try it. U can buy the bacteria at some proper shop. Hehe..

Movie Review: National Treasure Book of Secrets

Starring: Nicholas Cage

Food Review: Zoe

continued from Food Review: Mang Engking

After we’d ate at mang engking, me and JiLid went to Zoe (Margonda Street, Depok).. it was after the rain, so some of its seats was still wet (even then it's raining again and I just got the tempias.. hiks hiks). One of the waiter is sooo friendly and sweet, heheh.. bcoz we just had ate before, so we didn’t order any weighty food, and I even didn’t wanna ordered hot chocolate or sth like that coz it’s surfeiting. I just ordered hot lemon tea. But, alida ‘smartly’ said to the waitress that I just had a diet so I must maintain what I eat and drink.. Unfortunately, the waitress just ‘menelan bulat-bulat’, believe it, and said, “oooh, berat juga ya sepertinya?”.. gabruks… tserah lah.. we ordered smoked beef/chicken fajitas as the snack.

The place was quite nice; the lights were good, quite cozy. One thing that I didn’t really like was the music, they played ‘dewa’ over and over again. Bosen… And if it’s raining, you must be cleverly choose the seat, if u don’t, u’ll get the touches of rain.. hehe..
The smoked beef/chicken fajitas was bad. So so salty.. really really don’t recommend it. The drinks were so so. The place was nice. The price was affordably pricey. Oya, there’s a musholla on it.

Two days later, I came to the place again, now with Rora.. the friendly waitress still there, and she remembered me!! Unfortunately she asked, “udah ga diet lagi ya? Ini makan berat..”.. deeng, awas lo Lid..

We ordered ayam bakar betutu, and mango squash apple squash.. the beverages were good. And the food, I must admit that it’s delicious!!!! They’re right for makin it as ‘chef recommend’.. really really love it. May be because the hunger effect, but still, I thought it wouldn’t change my opinion even when I’m full. A must try!!

Food Review: Mang Engking

At first, I and JiLid just wanted to come to Zoe to learn DSS subject for the exam on two days later. But, after considered my mom and her mom were came to the campus to meet ms KMJ and mr ANH, so we tried to provoked them to mentraktir us for lunch. Fortunately, her mom was wanted to take a survey for her arisan. But, my mom was fasting that day, so she couldn’t join.

Then, we (me, JiLid, ms Yuli, and mr ANH) went to Mang Engking (in Area of Universitas Indonesia, Depok) at about 12. Lid ordered fried gurame fish, udang bakar madu biasa, udang bakar madu super (the waiter recommended it as restos’ fave), and kangkung cah.

About the place..
I think I just love it, really cozy.. and when I come there, it was raining a bit so the weather was really fresh, the gentle breeze was perfect. Perfect for studying, hahaha.. the fishes were bubbling at the artificial pond around the huts. Ikannya buanyak banget dan gede-gede. Dikasih makan pada rebutan ga keruan, rakus2 amat..

I really love the place, the plants, the pond, fishes, huts, the yellow flowers, and so on. Refreshing!!

About the food..
The restos fave, udang bakar madu was good, sayang banget mr ANH benci dengan yang namanya udang.. hahaha.. so he couldn’t taste the deliciousness of the shrimps.. oia, we just made a mistake for ordering two kinds of udang (biasa n super). If u wanna go there, just order one kind and it’s enough. The difference just on the size, but actually the aggregates of it’s filling was just the same (isinya sama aja, yg gede sebenernya isinya ga jauh beda)

About the price, I think it’s quite pricey. Although it’s may be because we over-ordered the food. And, unfortunately they don’t sell snack :(, jadi susah deh untuk menjadikannya tempat bwt blajar.. mahal sii..

Travelers' Tale

Well done.... :)..

Overall, bagus untuk dibaca ko.. ^^

Aunt Traveler

Now, the story about her begin..

Bude ini berinisial SS (gw ga mau nyebutin nama orang di blog ah..), beliau merupakan lulusan farmasi ITB tahun... hmm, tahun brp yah? pokoknya udah lama (ya iya lah...), seangkatan sama dosen2 senior di kampus brarti..

Banyaak banget yang bisa diceritakan dari bude yang satu ini, tentang how extraordinary she is.. Tapi kali ini gw cuma mo ceritain tentang kepiawaiannya berkisah.. such a great storyteller.. kehandalannya bercerita ditunjang dengan pengalamannya yang sudah banyak berkelana ke negeri orang.. mostly in europe and america..

Extraordinary stories from extraordinary person. Duh, sayangnya gw ga pinter cerita.

Amazing Race Asia Season 2

Hoho..

Okay then, singkat saja.

Not bad lah ya.. Tapi entah kenapa gw rada sangsi kalo mereka akan masuk 5 besar. Mudah2an aja gw salah.. hehe..

Mereka udah tergolong tuwir dibandingin peserta lainnya. Well, above 45 lah. Nah, Henry itu pensiunan tentara. Terdengar gahar. Tapi walaupun gitu, jauh kalah galak dibandingin istrinya.

Quote of The Episode: "We Live and Die By Our Cab Driver"
by Marc and Rovilson. Because how prepared you are, luck will always has important role. One of them is lied on the cab driver's hand. hehehe..

Food Review: Pastello

Kalo pastel Mak' Cik cuma mengandalkan kerenyahan kulitnya aja.. Tapi kalo ini.. beeeeuh, rasanya juga cihuy banget.. langsung kerasa spesialnya sejak gigitan pertama.. yummy.... I really mean it.
